MakerSpec Lab is being built for U.S. makers and small businesses comparing laser equipment. Our goal is to make the evaluation process clearer without treating a spec sheet as a promise about your results.
What we aim to publish
We are developing practical explainers, comparison frameworks, and planning tools that help readers describe their work, ask better questions, and verify vendor claims on their own materials and workflow.
How we describe evidence
We will distinguish manufacturer specifications from independent testing and our own observations. If a piece has not been tested hands-on by our team, it will say so. We will identify the date and source of time-sensitive specifications when we publish them.
Who this is for
Our initial focus is small shops, makers, and product businesses that are evaluating whether laser equipment fits their work. The site is informational; it does not provide engineering, legal, workplace-safety, or financial advice.
Independence and funding
We do not currently have active affiliate links or paid product placements. If that changes, we will disclose the relationship near the relevant content and explain our editorial approach on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
